Film legend Hans Zimmer and Sir Elton John
The Oscar-winning soundtrack by film music legend Hans Zimmer has been shaping the globally successful animated film "The Lion King" for 27 years now: African rhythms and sounds paired with monumental, epic melodies. Sir Elton John's poignant hits such as "Hakuna Matata", "Circle of Life" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" are timeless and composed for eternity.
The magnificent voices of the chorus welcome the audience to this mesmerizing evening and join the Cinema Festival Symphonics ensemble as they perform the orchestral version of the iconic movie songs. The audience is immersed directly into the world of Simba, Nala and co. as the rousing sounds play live on stage and are emotionalized with artful screen animations.
Joy and lightness are present when the melody of "I want to be king right now" fills the room. The cheerful rhythms of "The Morning Report" put everyone in a good mood. Things get emotional when the orchestra takes the audience into the tragic death of Mufasa and evokes deep feelings.
Soloists, choir and orchestra, the Cinema Festival Symphonics under the direction of Stephen Ellery from London, already thrilled the audience with the concert performances of "Game of Thrones", "The Music of Star Wars" and "The Music of Harry Potter".
The ensemble is known for their emotional, true-to-the-original, powerful sound, which immerses the audience directly in the film themes.
